How the League works
The road league is formed from a mix of Middle (Half Ironman), Standard (Olympic), Sprint and Super Sprint Distance events with the best five counting towards the league (a minimum of two of which must be Sprint/Super Sprint and a minimum two Standard/Middle).
The cross league is formed from a mix of duathlons and triathlons, one triathlon and two other events must be completed.
There will be two categories, the Open will be for age categories B thru G (17 - 39) and the veteran group H and above (40+); this will be for both ladies and gents. All club names will be shown where given but for the first time it is not a requirement to belong to a club to qualify for the league.
However, to qualify for a prize you will need to be a member of Triathlon England registered to the East. If you aren't a member checkout the important benefits on the membership page. These include the all important insurance package as well as cheaper race entry, offers from shops, 12.5% off Wiggle goods and the opportunity to qualify to represent Great Britain at World and European triathlon championships.
The league will run on a point system, points scored on the basis of the winning time in the category, 10000 for first place and a reduced number for a slower time:
(winning time / competitor time) * 10000)
If more than 5 events are completed, the best five count (remembering the minimum of each type mentioned above).
