British Triathlon launch new membership scheme aimed at enticing youngsters into triathlon

Today (Monday 3 April) marks the unveiling of British Triathlon’s exciting new junior membership scheme, jam-packed with fantastic features to take advantage of across the coming year.

The scheme aims to further engage youngsters, aged 8-18, in the sport by offering bespoke content and initiatives, tailored perfectly for the developing triathlete.

A key change to the current membership offering is the introduction of an ongoing reward scheme, giving junior members the opportunity to log training sessions, races and volunteering hours, unlocking a series of collectable medals and certificates in the process.

In addition, now’s the time to get familiar with a new, fully dedicated section on the British Triathlon website, set to hone-in on hot topics on everything from the various ways to get involved in the world of triathlon to what to eat before a training session. Delve further and reach the info-packed athlete education zone, explore fun activities to take part in and discover profiles of Britain’s Olympic heroes.

The innovative membership package is available for all new and renewing Triathlon England and Welsh Triathlon juniors, and from today, will see the welcome pack include a membership card, bespoke British Triathlon membership gifts and top advice from some of Britain’s biggest triathlon stars so young athletes can feel fully prepared to begin their journey within the sport.    

Jack Buckner CEO British Triathlon, said: “The new British Triathlon Junior membership package will really bring the sport to life for both youngsters beginning their triathlon journey and those already involved.

“To have a package with key information dedicated to children and young people is fantastic and we hope membership will continue to flourish.”

Lisa Hollis, British Triathlon Membership Manager added: “We’ve seen a huge increase in the number of children and young people getting involved with triathlon in recent years and believe it’s the perfect time to introduce a membership package that best meeting the needs of current members, whilst encouraging even more individuals into the sport.

“The scheme now offers some fantastic new features that our young members can unlock over the coming months. We hope our junior community are as excited as we are.”

British Triathlon Junior Membership is available for all new and renewing Triathlon England and Welsh Triathlon members from 12pm, Monday 3 April.
