EAST MIDLANDS TRIATHLON SKILLS TRAINING DAYS

Published:

Are you 11 to 18 years of age and have shown potential to develop further of you are from a single discipline sport and want to try out triathlon then these days might just be for you!! The first day is on 11 October 15!!

The East Midlands Region would like to invite athletes aged 11 -18 years to the second year of their triathlon Skills Training Days. Similarly to last year, these days will operate alongside the East Midlands Regional Triathlon Academy and are open to athletes who reside in the East Midlands or belong to a triathlon club in the region.

The focus of the days will be on fundamental skills development across all elements of triathlon, including swimming, cycling, running and transitions, as well as sessions on race preparation, strength and conditioning and nutrition.

If you are a young athlete who has shown potential in triathlon, or if your background is in a single sport (swimming/cycling/running) and you want to extend this and have a go at triathlon, then these are the days to attend.

There will be occasions throughout the year where athletes will have the opportunity to train alongside the Academy members, enabling them to experience the next level of the sport and strive towards that standard.

In order to be able to fully participate in the training activities, we would ask that athletes are able to swim 400m without stopping, and have some basic knowledge of the other disciplines.

The cost for each training day will be £20. An application form can be obtained from naomiEMRA@btinternet.com. Our first training day for 2015-16 will take place on 11th October.

If you are an athlete or a coach and would like to discuss this further, please get in touch either by email or mobile.
