NW Junior Series Update – 20^th February 2012

The series has now got underway with the first aquathlon of the season being held by Mersey Tri in one of the few places in the country that avoided the big freeze that weekend. Ninety nine juniors competed on what turned out to be a respectable February day. Good racing was seen across all age groups, well done to Mersey Tri in getting their event on.

The next event in the NW Junior Series should have been the Marbury Park Duathlon. Unfortunately this has been cancelled as Warrington Tri Club have been unable to acquire all the necessary race permits from the local council. On a more positive note this event has been replaced with a duathlon that will be held at Salt Ayre on 15th April. Race details for the Salt Ayre Duathlon will be on the City of Lancaster Triathlon club web site soon and can be found by following the link www.cityoflancastertriathlon.co.uk

 Two events that are provisionally in the Junior Series this year, the St Annes Triathlon and the Fleetwood Triathlon, have still to detail some of their race safety requirements for the junior events. These must be documented before these races will be confirmed as being included in the NW Junior series. Please watch this page for future updates.

A new event has been added to the Junior Series. The Little Deva event , which is being run by Chester Tri Club, will take place on 30^th June. This race is for competitors aged from 15-19 so is for Youths only. Race details can be found at www.chestertri.org.uk/events

With the demise of the Marbury Park Duathlon the next race in the series is the Leigh Aquathlon which is being held on 11^th March.
