Based on the latest government instruction around Coronavirus/COVID-19, and in line with other national governing bodies, British Triathlon, the three Home Nations (Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon) and the Triathlon Trust suspended triathlon activity until at least 30 June. After the expected update from the Prime Minister on Sunday 10 May, we will review the latest government instruction and the implications for our sport.
We are currently collaborating with other national governing bodies and working on a Return to Play programme that will set out how we anticipate being able to return to triathlon activity. We expect that this will be a phased approach based on the development and easing of the government restrictions. Although we will publish our detailed plans, the timings for each phase must be flexible and in line with national and international developments.
We appreciate that this is a very difficult time for everyone involved in our sport, but we do ask for your support as we navigate through this period of uncertainty. We are doing everything we can to support members, clubs, coaches, committees and academies as well as those clubs and businesses who run triathlon events.
