Commonwealth Games XXI will feature both triathlon and paratriathlon
Over 4-15 April, sporting history will be made on the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will welcome more than 6,600 athletes and team officials from 70 Commonwealth nations and territories to the Gold Coast and event cities Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville, to share in the celebration of sport, entertainment and culture.
The PTWC class paratriathlon event features for the first time in an extended Commonwealth Games para programme whilst the womens triathlon event will see the first medal of the games decided.

Ian Pyper
Team England Triathlon Team Leader
Having been appointed in the Team England Triathlon Team Leader role for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Ian's job is to manage the Team England Triathlon team throughout the pre games, games and post games periods.
Ian Pyper has worked with British Triathlon for a number of years and in his role as Head of Physical Preparation primarily supports the strength and conditioning, physiology and nutrition staff with delivery, as well as providing a more strategic view on the S&C delivery across the programme.

Rick Velati
Team England Lead Triathlon Coach
Rick Velati is the England Talent Head Coach and leads the England Talent Squad, working with athletes, support staff, coaches and parents. To lead GBR youth, junior and U23 championship teams.
Having been appointed in the Team England Lead Triathlon Coach role for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Rick will support the triathletes selected to compete on the Gold Coast.

Steve Casson
Team England Lead Paratriathlon Coach
Steve is a World Class Performance Coach at the Loughborough Triathlon Performance Centre. He works with fellow coaches at the LTPC to develop and deliver swim, bike and run technical coaching support for all Paratriathletes who train in the LTPC and leads the Performance Management Process for a number of Podium and Podium Potential Paratriathletes.
Having been appointed in the Team England Lead Paratriathlon Coach role for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Steve will support the PTWC paratriathletes selected to compete on the Gold Coast.

Dr Ian Thompson
Team England Assistant Paratriathlon Coach
Dr Ian Thompson is a Paratriathlon Performance Coach based in the North-East of England. With a history in coaching track wheelchair racers Ian specialises in working with the PTWC athletes on the British Paratraithlon podium and talent programme.
Having been appointed in the Team England Assistant Paratriathlon Coach role for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Ian will support the PTWC paratriathletes selected to compete on the Gold Coast.

Gavin Smith
Team England Assistant Triathlon Coach
Gavin is a Performance Coach at the Loughborough Triathlon Performance Centre. He works with fellow coaches at the LTPC to develop and deliver the annual training programme of athletes based at the performance centre.
Having been appointed in the Team England Assistant Triathlon Coach role for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Gavin will support the triathletes selected to compete on the Gold Coast.
