Francis Riley started triathlon in 1981 with a sprint distance triathlon, although nobody really knew what they were doing back then (no gear and not much idea).
Francis joined Leeds and Bradford Triathlon in 1998 and became their club Chairman and Level 1 coach a few years later, and was responsible for the club's Starmark and Clubmark accreditation process. Francis is currently a Level 2 coach and RTO, and is still active within the club and officiating at events. Francis was appointed as the Yorkshire Regional Chair just over eight years ago to date and has been active at Council and Board level since then. He has represented the Northern regions for the last three years and has represented the Great Britain Age-Group team several times and is currently the senior (oldest) member of the Jackpot Racing Team. His ambition is to medal at 70 in a major event.
