Affiliation fees and insurance

£105: the affiliation fee including the public liability cover.

All fees are per annum and run from the 1 January until 31 December.  If clubs wish to join later in the year, from August and further they may ask for a reduction on the insurance fee.

The club insurance covers the club and its officers/members acting on behalf of the club for public liability to a limit of £10 million per incident.  It does not provide individual cover for athletes of the club.  They are strongly advised to join one of the Home nations to obtain personal benefits.

Please note that this insurance does not provide cover for business activities whereby the proceeds of events go to benefit a separate commercial entity.

What are the benefits for a club to affiliate?

  • The club can receive support from their Home Nation’s staff and regional development manager.  This is especially useful when a club wants to develop to Clubmark or Starmark status, makes a club development plan, or set up a junior section.
  • Club members will pay a reduced fee for individual membership with Triathlon England or Welsh Triathlon.
  • Publication on the British Triathlon and Home Nation website and in the annual handbook.
  • Club insurance often allows members to make use of certain facilities, e.g. open water.
