Tickets to the 2016 British Triathlon Awards Dinner are on sale today (Thursday 22 September) from 9am; inviting all those within the triathlon community to join us as we celebrate a show-stopping year for the sport.
The event will shine the spotlight on the athletes, officials, volunteers and events that have together, over the last 12 months, aided the growth and success of triathlon. Following on from a hugely successful Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it will also provide a chance to appreciate the hard work of the teams that helped support our athletes to the podium.
The event is set to take place on Saturday 12 November at Royal Armouries International, Leeds and will feature a guest speaker, to be revealed at a later date. Tickets are priced at £55 and include a drinks reception, three-course dinner with wine, and evening disco.
British Triathlon Chief Executive Officer, Jack Buckner, said: “It’s a great pleasure to be able to invite all those who have supported triathlon over the past 12 months to an evening celebrating the stand-out moments of 2016.
“From our elite triathletes and paratriathletes, to the Great Britain Age-Group Teams, there have been some superb achievements; all of which couldn’t have happened without our dedicated support staff, officials and volunteers.
“The British Triathlon Awards Dinner is always a highlight within the triathlon calendar and at its new location of the Royal Armouries International, we can look forward to an exciting evening of celebration in the heart of Yorkshire.”
There will be 18 award categories recognised over the course of the evening, including the 2016 Peter Holmes Award for Inspirational Performance in International Competition.
Nominations for awards decided by public vote will be announced within the coming weeks, with winners being crowned on the night.
The day also hosts the British Triathlon and Triathlon England AGM and Awards. For more information, please visit here.
