National champions were crowned in Nottingham at the 2022 Triathlon England Club Relay Championships as the sun shone at the annual August bank holiday event.

The penultimate Triathlon England Championships of the year, the Club Relays saw Triathlon England affiliated clubs form quartets of Home Nation members to swim, bike, run to a collective time.

Part of the triathlon calendar for over 30 years, unlike the traditional relay or mixed relay, teams completed each discipline of swim, bike, run one athlete at a time before moving onto the next.

A 500m swim, 15km bike and 5km run was the challenge for each team member to conquer as quickly as possible before tagging their next teammate. Once the final athlete completed the run, the clock stopped, and the team’s race was complete.

Championship titles were awarded in male, female and mixed categories for clubs in different age groups. Quartets had to comprise of solely Home Nation members to be eligible for a national championship medal.

The final Triathlon England National Championship of 2022 will take place on Sunday 11 September as the standard distance championships head to the south coast and the Bournemouth International Triathlon.
