With the 2020 Triathlon England Awards now open for nominations, we got in touch with Mat Dowle and Dale Anderton from TriBourne Multisport Events Limited, organisers of the 2019 Triathlon England Commercial Event of the Year, the Eastbourne Triathlon, to hear what it meant to them to be nominated and win.
“When we found out that we’d been nominated for the Triathlon England Award we were immensely proud. It’s great to receive recognition for all the work we put in and to know how much our participants enjoy and value our events.
“As an event company, volunteers are crucial to the events we run. They’re the heart and soul of our events, and without them our events would not be possible.
“The Triathlon England Awards are so important to reinforce just how important volunteers are to the sport, and it’s great to recognise the work they do through the regional and national awards programme.
“Winning the Commercial Event of the Year Award has provided a fantastic springboard for us to launch several new events including XBourne, our new cross-triathlon scheduled for September and IronBourne, our new full and middle-distance event which will take place next July.
“The fact that volunteers have shown they are willing to step forward and keep the sport going through lockdown and as we prepare to recommence events in the near future is truly worthy of recognition and thanks.”
The 2020 Triathlon England Awards are now open for nomination and will close on Wednesday 2 September at 12 noon.
