A jam-packed weekend of multisport events is upon us. Here’s what to expect across the country.

Darley Moor May Sprint Duathlon – East Midlands

A non-draft legal, traffic-free duathlon on the Darley Moor race circuit races across a 4.8km run, 18.3km cycle and 2.4km run. The event will be raced over three waves throughout the day, with the race taking on a time trial format start. Winners of each age group will take home prizes.

 East Leake Triathlon – East Midlands

Now in its eighteenth year, East Leake Triathlon is one of the most established events of the early season. Participants will take on a fast, flat course surrounded by both seasoned athletes and first timers. East Leake Triathlon is made up of a 400m swim, 22km cycle and 5km run.

Rush2theDen Sywell Charity Mile Swim – East Midlands

Sywell Country Park hosts a charity one-mile swim in aid of Rush2TheDen who believe in 'Inspiring young people to achieve'. They support young people’s development, offering opportunities to gain, increase and develop skills, knowledge self-awareness and confidence, and enabling them to make positive and healthy life choices. Participants can support the charity by taking a dip in the reservoir, swimming around a two-lap course.

Sywell Sprint Tri Series 1 – East Midlands

Sywell Country Park also hosts a sprint triathlon this weekend as part of a three-event series. Again utilising the clean water of the retired reservoir, participants will then cycle the surrounding country lanes before completing their run around the lake.

Cotswolds Lake 62 Novice Events – South West

Taking place in the picturesque lakes of the Cotswolds, the race will feature a deep-water start before cycling around the Cotswolds on a mostly flat course. The race will culminate in a spectator-friendly run course around the lake. Participants can take part through either a duathlon, triathlon, aquabike or aquathlon format.

Cats Cotswold Sprint and Supersprint Triathlon – South West

Another Cotswolds event taking place this weekend, the Cats Cotswold Sprint and Supersprint Triathlon welcomes athletes to Cotswold Country Park and Beach, Crystal Clear Lake. This year the event will host a sprint and supersprint event, as well as the very popular relays.

Wadebridge Tri - The Camel - Cornish Tri Series II – South West

Featuring a rolling bike course on quiet roads and the scenic Camel Trail on the run, this race can be enjoyed as the Big Camel (400m swim, 26.4km cycle, 4.6km run), Little Camel 200m swim, 13.5km cycle, 2.5km run) as well as TriStar 1, 2, 3, Start and Youth.

Dorney Triathlon – South Central

Participants at Dorney Triathlon can take on a sprint or standard distance, with the opportunity to race around a unique and inspiring Olympic venue. The flat and scenic grounds lend themselves to a totally flat bike and run course, that can be enjoyed in a triathlon or aquabike format.

The Huntsman – South Central

Beginning with a smooth swim in Ellingham lake, the race then makes way for a cycle through the beautiful New Forest and ending in a pretty flat run through quiet country roads. Participants have the choice of a middle distance, standard or sprint distance triathlon, as well as an aquabike and duathlon format.

The Marlow Classic – South Central

Taking place on a scenic course in the Thames Valley participants have a plethora of choices in how to race at this event, with middle, sprint and standard distances available in aquabike, duathlon, swim and triathlon formats.

Horwich Triathlon – North West

Known as “The Race to the Pike”, the Horwich Triathlon is one of the oldest triathlon events in the North West, dating back over 25 years. Beginning with a 500m pool swim, the race then makes way for a 40km undulating cycle and ends on an 8.6km run to the summit of Rivington Pike.

St Annes Triathlon – North West

Races on flat, closed roads, this triathlon takes participants along quiet country lanes around the St Annes Promenade. Now in its thirteenth year, this event is and part of the Fylde Trilogy Series including Ribby Hall and Fleetwood and is ideal for first timers or those wanting an early season PB. Participants can choose from the sprint distance (400m swim, 4km cycle, 1.2km run), TriStar 1, 2, 3 and TriStar Start, and Youth distances.

UTC May Triathlon – North West

Ulverston Leisure Centre welcomes athletes in the North West to take on a 325m swim, 29km cycle and 5km run.

Big East Triathlon - East

This race consists of an 800m swim in the River Blackwater, a 48km cycle in the peaceful Essex countryside and a 10km lapped run based around Bradwell, the sea wall and marshes passing the historic St Peters Chapel.

The event can also be completed across the middle distance, featuring a 1.6km swim, 92km cycle and finishes with a 20km lapped run. Aquabike options are also available.

Hertfordshire Triathlon - East

This event will feature sprint and standard individual triathlons, both with relay and aquabike options. The sprint distance triathlon includes the Herts Club Championships but is open to all participants. The race starts with an open water lake swim before heading out onto a rural, undulating bike course in the Hertfordshire countryside. The run is completely traffic free, on a compact grass surface.

Tadcaster Tri - Yorkshire

Tadcaster Tri is now in its fifteenth year and is as popular as ever, raising funds for Tadcaster Community Pool. The event consists of a 400m pool swim, a 14km cycle and a safe and flat, 7km run alongside the River Wharfe.

Warmseal Northumberland Triathlon – North East

Located within the stunning Druridge Bay Country Park and situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coastline, this event is available to compete in as a sprint or standard aquabike or triathlon and can be tackled with friends in a relay format.

The swim will be in the freshwater Ladyburn Lake set within the park grounds. The bike route will take participants out of the park along a coastal route and finish with a multi-lap run winding its way through the woods and meadows that surround the lake.
