South East Senior Series - It's For Everyone!

Published:

The 2016 TESE Senior Series aims to bring together clubs from across the region at 5 popular events, where simple participation is all that is required. By joining in and working together as a club (regardless of ability) you can compete for the prestigious 2016 South East Senior Series award.

Triathlon as an event is often perceived mostly as a solo activity. However, the Triathlon England South East regional committee wish to cultivate the strong social scene from all our clubs into the 2016 Senior Race  Series.  The Series aims to bring together clubs from across the region at 5 popular events where simple participation is all that is required. By joining in and working together as a club (regardless of ability) you can compete for the prestigious 2016 South East Senior Series award.

The Series offers a great opportunity to visit the home turf of the hosting clubs, to race on and discover a few of their favourite roads as well as a great opportunity to bring members of your club together, meet other like-minded individuals and discuss pertinent topics with the wider triathlon community.

This years events have been partly selected for their social aspects, not only for competitors but for supporters & families who so often get up at unsociable hours to drive you down, provide some pre-race calming words and cheer you on from the moment you enter the pool to when you finally cross the finish line.

To enter the Series your club needs to complete a very simple online form (here) to sign up.  The clubs that have already registered can be seen on the TESE website here.  Entry into the Series is free.

There is no organisation for you or your club as the Series is totally managed and updated by very helpful volunteers from the Triathlon England South East Committee.

If you don’t feel that you have the authority to enter your club then please just message over the link to someone who does – perhaps someone on your club committee.  It would be great shame not to have your club represented in the Series especially as even if your club hasn’t organised racing at one of the events as a ‘club outing’, it is still beneficial to sign up your club so that as many points as possible are counted from all the members who do enter each event for themselves anyway.

The culmination of the TESE Senior Race Series 2016 will be in the form of a social awards night, and I do highlight the word social as that will be the focus here. It will be a great opportunity to meet, mingle & congratulate/light-heartedly trash-talk with members from all the other clubs involved in the 2016 Series. An opportunity to say hello to ‘that guy’ who you pipped on the line, the individual who rode all the events on a fold-away & to share experiences with all those competitors you’ve raced hard against all season. It will also be a great chance to dive into the pool of knowledge present to plan your winter & next season’s races with others who have experienced them.

The Series kicks off with the East Grinstead Sprint Triathlon on 8th May. More information on the Series and further races can be found here.
