With all of the excitement of the Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds across the weekend of 11-12 June, the third of six 2016 Triathlon England – National Championships takes place on Saturday, as the Aquathlon comes to Roundhay Park

The first of two Triathlon England - National Championship events to be held in June takes place this Saturday, with the Aquathlon event forming part of day one at the inaugural Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds weekend.

Held over a 750m swim / 5km run format, the opening swim will be a one loop course within Waterloo Lake, Roundhay Park. That will be followed by a two lap run held entirely within the grounds of the 700 acres city park. Who will succeed David Bartlett and Sian Temple, winners of the 2015 championship event held in Falmouth?

As well as the Triathlon England Championships, Elite Youth and Junior athletes will also be racing for British Aquathlon Championship honours in race three of the 2016 British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series. The Youth’s will race over a 400m / 2.5km course with the Elite Juniors racing over the same 750m / 5km route at the Triathlon England Championship event.
