Hosted at some of the top venues around the country, Triathlon England members are given the opportunity to win national titles and medals at the 2021 national championships.
With an exciting array of events on the horizon, 2021 looks to be a renewed year for multisport with the Triathlon England National Championships no exception.
The first championship of the year will be the Standard Distance Duathlon at the Yorkshire Duathlon. Taking place at the Croft Motor Racing Circuit on 18 April, the race will cover a 10km run, a 40km bike and a final 5km run. The North East has hosted an array of championships before and this is set to be a spectacular opening event to the 2021 season.
Five more championships will take place throughout the year across a variety of multisport disciplines. Following the duathlon will be the Standard Distance Triathlon at the Woodhorn Museum Triathlon (10 July), followed by the Middle Distance Triathlon at the Festival of Endurance (4 July) and Club Relay Championships at the Triathlon Relays (28 August).
The penultimate event is the Sprint Distance Triathlon Championships at the Box End Triathlon (5 September), with the year ending at the Aquathlon Championships at Worthing Aquathlon (19 September).
Andy Salmon, Chief Executive of British Triathlon, said: “We’re really excited to announce the calendar of age group major events for 2021. They’re the pinnacle of domestic racing for our members and I want to thank the event organisers for hosting them.
“Since the suspension on activity was lifted in July, we’ve supported event organisers and participants to ensure great experiences can be delivered in a Covid-19 Secure manner.
“We’re all looking forward to these competitive opportunities being delivered safely in 2021 and, whilst they may still look slightly different, giving our members the chance to achieve their swim, bike, run goals.”
