Wales welcomed sprint talent for second round of Super Series

Libby Coleman maintains her unbeaten streak as the second round of the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series unfolded last weekend (Saturday 13 May).

With an impressive 31 second margin, Alex Yee took the Junior Men’s title at Sospan Sprint Triathlon Llanelli in 58:29, following his characteristically swift run leg. Barclay Izzard and Cameron Harris made up the remaining podium spots, the trio being the only competitors to dip under the hour mark.

Olivia Mathias was the best of the Junior Women, finishing in 1:05.50 ahead of first round winner, Kate Waugh, and Issy Morris in a strong Junior field. However, it was the Youth Females who had the closest battle of the day, with Libby Coleman, Elsbeth Grant and Daisy Davies crossing the line within 5 seconds of each other; Coleman reigning supreme for a second occasion in 38:44.

It took exactly 35 minutes for Daniel Dixon to claim gold in Millenium Coastal Park, going one better than he did in the first round of the series in Bedford. Andrew Roland and Noah Canby took silver and bronze, respectively.
