Swimming Faults & Corrections

This course is suitable for triathletes and Triathlon England qualified coaches. The course takes attendees through the common faults which are often found in freestyle strokes and look at identifying cause and effect before looking at corrective methods. Attendees will cover:

  • Identification of efficient freestyle stroke
  • Highlighting common faults found in freestyle strokes
  • Identifying a flaw and corrective methods
  • Video analysis correction

**Please note half of this session is practical and pool based, so appropriate swim wear will be required.**

Social Media and Marketing

Digital Insight - Using social media to grow membership and fill events. Social media is a free tool which can be effectively used to market your club, organisation or events. It's a landscape which has changed significantly in the last 12 months, and the Digital Insight team has been working closely with several of Triathlon England's events teams and will be sharing the findings. Anyone with responsibility for increasing membership or helping promote events should attend to find out:

  • Which platforms should we be using?
  • What does "good" look like? (with practical examples)
  • Being interesting, funny or useful
  • Setting some easily achievable objectives
  • Deciding who should be doing this

Video Analysis

Video analysis is by far the quickest and most insightful way to improve your technique. This workshop will allow you to gain insight into simple, effective and low cost ways to incorporate video analysis into your swim, bike and run sessions.  Additionally, it will offer practical advice and solutions to issues that most clubs face.

Officials

This workshop will look at rule changes as we closer integrate with the ITU rules, and the release of a new rule book for the 2016 season based on the ITU rules.  There will be plenty of opportunity to build and share knowledge of Triathlon, best practice and in particular guiding principles for draft legal racing with the announcement of a number of Age Group drafting qualifiers for next year.

Winter Training

With the winter training season in full swing we have brought together experts in swim, bike and run training to offer an insight in to great ways to boost your performance next year with some focussed training. Each expert will deliver a section of the workshop on their specialist discipline which will also include an opportunity for candidates to ask burning questions about maximising your off season

Analysing your Performance and Developing Strength & Conditioning

Designed with triathletes in mind, this workshop is split into two sections, the first half looks at various techniques and tips on how to analyse your conditioning. This is followed by a tutorial on developing strength and conditioning. By combining the knowledge from both parts of the workshop, it should assist you with the development of skills and techniques to improve your overall performance.

Women into Triathlon (By Invitation Only)

British Triathlon are committed to getting more women into our sport and we need your help in shaping how we do that in the future.

The workshop will:

  • Give a brief overview of our current projects in support of the Sport England - This Girl Can Campaign
  • Showcase success stories of real women achieving their triathlon challenges
  • Provide an opportunity for you to feedback about how we as the governing body can get even more women into triathlon
  • Provide an opportunity for you to help us develop our female participation plans for the future with your ideas and thoughts
  • Bring together females of all levels and abilities to form a Womentri network.

The workshop will be delivered by Jenny Vincent (National Lead for Women’s Participation and South East Regional Manager) and Carol MacDonald (East Regional Manager)
