The Triathlon Trust celebrate record breaking year

Published:

The Triathlon Trust is the officially charity of British Triathlon and use the engaging sport of triathlon to encourage children to lead healthy, active lives.

2016 has been a record year for the Triathlon Trust, delivering over 70 triathlon-based events to more than 29,000 children across the length and breadth of Great Britain.

All of their events are fully accessible to children of all standards and abilities, with floatation devices provided for non-swimmers and scooters provided for non-cyclists. Every child who completes the challenge goes home with a medal and the ability to call themselves a triathlete.

This year the Triathlon Trust also started to deliver indoor events over the winter, through a partnership with the UK Space Agency and astronaut Tim Peake. Touring the country they have been challenging schools to travel the distance from Earth to theInternational Space Station in one day. The record distance travelled in a day has been 3,250km, set by Impington Village College... quite some achievement!

If you would like to help the Trust to deliver even more events to children in 2017, please follow this link to make a monthly donation, quickly and securely, through JustGiving.
