Taking place at the Hertfordshire Triathlon on 18 August 2019, the 2019 Triathlon England Sprint Distance Championship has changed venue and will now take place at Box End Park, Bedford.

This decision has been taken by the Event Organiser, Active Training World, in conjunction with local authorities and Triathlon England as a result of algae levels in the original venue, Stanborough Lake. All participants have been emailed to notify them of the change and will receive updated race information in due course.

Athlete safety is the first priority of Active Training World and Triathlon England, therefore whilst this situation is disappointing, changing venue is the correct decision and ensures the race can take place as a triathlon. The event paperwork has been amended and reviewed, and the British Triathlon Event Permit has been reissued according to this change in venue.

The event will continue to host the 2019 Triathlon England Sprint Distance Championship and 2020 ETU Sprint Distance Triathlon European Championship Qualifier.
